Dear Alice

I have read the book about you (Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll) I really enjoyed it. I was also very confused for a majority of the book. I am writing this letter to ask you some questions, hoping that you’ll have some answers for me.
First of all, how old were you when you went through this whole? If you were just a kid then that must have been very confusing for you. Since you went back down the whole when you were older and you didn’t even remember the first time. Therefore, I’m guessing that you were quiet young.
Secondly, did it hurt when you growing a great number of times frequently? From growing myself sometimes I get pains in my legs because I am growing. I couldn’t imagine how dreadful it must have been to be growing that fast.
Lastly, do you ever wish that you could have stayed in that world? Never having to go back to listening to your sister go on and on with that lifeless, picture less book. Or maybe just stay an extra day or two. Like a vacation.
Could you please answer these questions in a letter? These questions are annoying me like bees buzzing in my ear. Thank you!

Sincerely,

                        Jade Paffel

Laptop Bags.

Recently, the manufacturers of the school-used laptops said that the laptops won’t break as much as they used to. Also, now, we are unable to use our laptop bags. It is axiomatic that 99% of the students would not want to cooperate with this rule for many logical reasons.
In many classes, students are required to use a pencil or book for their class. On the laptop cases, there are multiple places to put pencils and the  charging cord the laptop. Because there are some students that do not have pencil cases, they use the laptop bag so they don’t lose the pencils, the cord, or any other items. Having to use the handle for the laptop instead of the bag is a complete waste of the bag when students can be using it for materials they need for class.
Band and French are located in the high school, so for the people in those classes, they need to bring materials necessary for their next class due to the facts that they do not have enough time to get back to their lockers and arrive punctually at their next class in time. They also might be carrying their materials from the class before, so there are high  probability that they are carrying a lot of books and other materials, and if in band, their instrument. Therefore,  you have a lot to carry around the school. If we are required to carry our laptop around with the handle, it’s hard to carry everything because it’s heavy and awkward and you need a lot more than hands to get away with carrying all your materials. Being able to use the shoulder strap with the laptop bag gives an extra hand to carry your supplies, making it a much easier.
Most importantly, carrying the laptop with your hands is not the best choice for some people. If a student is, for lack of better term, clumsy, or “butterfingers”, it would not help the fact that they have to carry all their supplies and carry your $600 laptop with your hands. Tripping on air is common for 7th and 8th graders. The bag has more protection than just letting it hit the ground. Or, while switching classes, you bump into a another student and your laptop might get bumped so hard, it results in letting go of it, making it hit the ground and ruining the expensive piece of equipment.
As stated previously, we are always carrying around a lot of supplies for our classes. If that is the case how are we going to put a charger into that pile and still be expected to carry it? Having the bag saves you much room to carry your materials to and from your classes, especially having a place for your charger at all times.
Removing the laptop bag from our school supply inventory creates a haven for disasters when carrying supplies, especially the expensive laptop. The school promotes safety when using the laptops, and taking away the bag is basically saying that they want you to drop the laptop. A contradiction only makes for more confusion, which helps on one while learning. Which is why I believe we should be able to use our laptop bags.

aM i PrOuD?

Am I proud of my country? Yes. Why? America is where I was raised, the schools that educated me. America is my home. We have freedom of speech, religion, and who runs our country. Even though America isn’t always the hero doesn’t mean that I am not Proud of America. We are all on a roller coaster every day, someone steals, the gas prices go up, a new bank opens, or a new president gets elected.  Even though we have fall sometimes, we rise back up.

Longer Lunch Period

Do you find yourself just sitting down once everyone is starting to go outside? Or do you get so hungry that you get a really big lunch and you are still trying to finish when the teachers are rushing you to go outside? What would you think of a longer lunch period? I believe that we should have longer lunch periods for many reasons.
First of all, students are stuck in classes all day and we finally have time to catch up with our friends and just talk. If you learned manners when you were little you would know that it is quiet rude to talk with the mouth full, so how are we going to have time to catch up and eat within the time frame? Secondly, the teachers always end up calling your table last so you never have time to eat everything on your tray. Having a longer lunch period would mean that the teachers could let our table go in whatever order and the students would still be able to finish their lunch in time to be done and have time to go outside for some fresh air.
Lastly, a lot of students are saying "we need a longer lunch period" but not a lot of students take into to consideration Horizon or PLE. Our schedule times out perfectly with the other schools so that the busses can get to our school, drop us off, then get back to Horizon and PLE and take them home. Therefore, lets say that we had school until 3:00 se we could have around 15 more minutes for lunch. So then the kids at horizon and PLE would get off 15 minutes later than they usually do and the timing would work out.  Please take into consideration understand we find ourselves rushing to get outside, and to our next class with a full stomach. I hope that this has shown you that I believe there are many reasons why we should have a longer lunch period.

Essay

Authors Note
The reason for writing this essay is to tell others about the book Elixir. Not a lot of people expect that Hilary Duff could write a good book. This essay is me saying "She CAN!" After reading this consider finding this book and reading it. You won't regret it.

Elixir
By Hilary Duff

I really enjoyed the book Elixir. I couldn’t put it down. Even on the weekend there was no stopping with this book. There’s so much happening that you just need to keep reading and reading.  The book was an excellent irony with romance.
The reason I found it an irony was because in the beginning Clea was feeling dizzy and sad because remembering about her dad disappearing. Then the fire with Rayna got Clea scared then she  took pictures of the fire. That night when Clea uploaded the picture she found a man in the back-round that she hadn’t noticed before.  Checking more photos she found him in all of Clea’s favorite pictures. That was one of my favorite parts of the book because I started to wonder what was going to happen and how other people would react if you told them.
When the bigger sense of chaos comes when you meet the man, Sage, in the pictures and Clea starts to find clues of other lives she has lived with Sage.  And always in the end of that life you die because of him.  Also Clea, Ben, and Sage are trying to find what happened to Clea’s father. When they found out what happened, Sage has to kill himself so he won’t be able to keep killing Clea in her other lives. He never ends up killing himself though. So Clea is left wondering when her soul mate will be killed. That is how it ends in sad way.
There is also romance in this because all of Clea’s previous lives she would be in love with Sage. So during the mystery of finding what happened to her dad, she is falling for Sage. But at the same time Ben is in love with Clea. Ben is the guy who is there for her when she is in a bad situation. So he is her body guard pretty much but they are really good friends at the same time. There is also a secret about him and his previous life’s that you can find out if you read the book.
The climax is when Ben calls for Clea when Sage is about to kill himself and the bad guys find Sage and take him away to somewhere that is not told in the book. Clea even said so herself in the book that if Ben wouldn’t have called me this wouldn’t have happened. Everything would be different. There are a lot of areas that could have people thinking that it was the climax because there are a lot of action parts where things change really fast but I think that when Ben ruins it there really is no going back.
