Big Yellow Field Below

       Authors Note:
In My class we studied two poems and found the meaning of them. Once we understood we listening to the songs to see how they resembled and what we thought. This is my response from after listening to the songs.

The two songs that we just listened to were 'Big Yellow Taxi' and 'Field Below'. Before we listened to these songs we read and discussed the words. We found that both poems had something to do about nature or missing home. The overall message was not to take things for granted and that you don't know what you've got until its gone.
'Big Yellow Taxi' was  actually a familiar song to me. I have heard the boy version of the song.  But the tone and the mood were not like the poem. The poem showed evidence that it might be a sad or slower song. But the song was actually a very fast tempo, happy sounding song. If you heard the song without listening to the lyrics it would be different. I think this song was probably really popular when it cam out and people didn't really study the lyrics like we did it so not many people understand what the song meant. As for Big Yellow Taxi, since the meaning of this song was about the darkness and how she was lonely in this big city that has no nature. The beat and the tempo was in match that I thought it would be. Slow, and sad was what I was going for and that’s what it sounded like. This song did not surprise me when I heard it. The beat and tempo was perfect for the meaning of the song. I think I would have never heard this song unless it was in this class.
